sometimes I need to look at some of my junk mail to make sure nothing was caught that shouldn't have been, or to troubleshoot a problem with junk filtering.
while working with junk mail recently, I found several dozen messages where the text consisted of fractured paragraph excerpts from Jane Austen's novel Emma. it was like a Jane Austen-bot gone mad. despite my hatred of junk mail, I was amused. I thought I might write about the messages on one of my blogs.
then it hit me that with maybe an hour's work, I could put together a site that would let visitors drag the little chunks of text around, as if they were reconstructing Austen's novel.
so I did, and that's what this is. thanks for visiting.
